The Czechia process step by step, and how to check your status
Can you apply for Czechia from Canada, the US, the UK, Australia, Ireland or New Zealand?
Rule (IPC): apply in person at a Czech mission in (a) your country of nationality or of the travel document, (b) a country where you hold long-term or permanent residence and have lived legally for at least 2 years (for EU countries, only the Dresden visa centre), or (c) any mission if you are a national of the listed countries. Some missions have quotas. From 1 Jul 2026 the embassies in Abu Dhabi, Doha, Kuwait, Riyadh, Singapore, Tel Aviv, Taipei and Tokyo have a zero Qualified Worker quota for nationals of countries outside their district (60 a year each for the highly qualified/key staff programmes) — so Indians living in the Gulf can no longer use those embassies for the Qualified Worker route.
| If you live in | What the official pages say |
|---|---|
| CanadaOnly with conditions | Allowed only if you hold long-term or permanent residence in Canada and have lived there legally at least 2 years (IPC rule). Ottawa quota and practice: not confirmed. |
| United StatesOnly with conditions | The Embassy in Washington takes Employee Card applications by emailed appointment and its page mentions no quota; under the IPC rule an Indian national needs long-term or permanent US residence and at least 2 years of legal residence there. Decision 60 days (90 if complex). |
| United KingdomOnly with conditions | UK citizens have had free access to the Czech labour market since 1 Jul 2024. Indian nationals in the UK can apply only with long-term or permanent UK residence and at least 2 years' legal residence (IPC rule); London quota: not confirmed. |
| AustraliaOnly with conditions | IPC 2-year residence rule applies; mission location and quota not confirmed. |
| IrelandOnly with conditions | Ireland is an EU country, so per IPC a resident there (with long-term residence and at least 2 years legal stay) applies only at the Czech visa centre in Dresden, Germany, not in Dublin; details not confirmed. |
| New ZealandOnly with conditions | IPC 2-year residence rule applies; mission and quota not confirmed. |

What we can and cannot do for a Czechia work permit
What we do
- Check your profile against the Czechia rules on this page, and tell you plainly if a route is not open to you.

- Help you prepare a complete, honest application file.
