Who can work in Croatia from India today?
A Croatian employer can hire you at any skill level: the employer gets the stay and work permit in Croatia, then you apply for a D visa. Since the Aliens Act amendment NN 55/26, employers must meet stricter conditions, including a minimum share of domestic staff, before the employment service gives a positive opinion. There is no annual quota.

What is the minimum pay for a Croatia work permit?
Only the legal minimums. We do not publish salaries for jobs we do not have.
- Stay and work permit (single permit)
- No fixed figure. Pay must not be lower than Croatian workers in the same or similar job under law and collective agreements, and the contract may not discriminate (Aliens Act art. 97, per HZZ).

How does hiring from India work for Croatia?
- Employer requests the labour market test on the HZZ portal (burzarada.hzz.hr), unless the job is on the deficit list.
- Within 90 days of HZZ's notice, the employer applies online for the stay and work permit for the named worker.
- Police obtain HZZ's opinion electronically; HZZ checks the employer meets the NN 55/26 conditions.
- Permit approved; the worker applies for a long-stay D visa at a Croatian diplomatic mission (or a consulate of a state representing Croatia).

What a genuine job offer includes
Under India’s Emigration Rules, a recruiting agent must give you the details of the job before recruiting you. Before you accept, you should have in writing:
- the employer’s name and the country and city of work;
- the job title and what the work is;
- the pay, hours and length of the contract;
- who pays for the visa, medical, ticket and housing before you start.
