What are the steps for a Estonia work permit?

  1. 1

Employer obtains Töötukassa permission to recruit a foreign national and fills in the employer invitation form; both can be sent to PBGB by e-mail or post.

  2. 2

Worker books an appointment at an Estonian foreign mission (in India: Embassy in New Delhi via broneering.mfa.ee) or, if legally in Estonia, at a PBGB service office.

  3. 3

Worker submits the application in person, gives fingerprints and pays the state fee; files from abroad go to PBGB by diplomatic post.

  4. 4

PBGB decides within up to 90 days of accepting the application; the card is issued within 30 days of a positive decision.

  5. 5

Worker moves to Estonia and registers their residence in the Population Register within one month.
